Perfect stats, explained

What is a 6IV Pokémon?

“6IV” means all six Individual Values are at their maximum natural value. It is useful shorthand, but it does not tell you the nature, EV training, moves, ability or whether the stats came naturally rather than through Hyper Training.

The definition

What does 6IV mean in Pokémon?

A 6IV Pokémon has an Individual Value of 31 in HP, Attack, Defence, Special Attack, Special Defence and Speed. IVs are the Pokémon’s built-in stat potential. They are separate from EV training and nature, so “6IV” alone does not mean the finished build is competitively optimised.

Some competitive builds intentionally want a lower stat, such as minimum Speed for Trick Room or minimum Attack for a special attacker. “Perfect” therefore means the IVs match the intended build, not automatically that every box says Best.

Natural versus trained

Is a Hyper-Trained Pokémon the same as a natural 6IV Pokémon?

No. Hyper Training makes a stat perform in battle as though its IV were 31, but it does not change the underlying IV. That difference matters most for breeding because Hyper-Trained values are not passed to offspring. NinVendor prefers genuine IVs first and discloses Hyper Training when legality requires it.

For a battle Pokémon, a Hyper-Trained stat provides the intended performance. For a breeding Ditto, the underlying natural IV is the product: check the Judge view rather than assuming the raw stat number proves it.

The honest odds answer

How rare is a legitimate 6IV Pokémon?

Each of the six IVs is a value from 0 to 31, so a fully random roll has a 1 in 32 chance of a 31 in any one stat and about a 1 in 1.07 billion chance of 31 in all six. The games shortcut this: Legendary, Mythical and Alpha Pokémon and Tera Raid catches carry at least three guaranteed 31s, and breeding passes selected parent IVs to the egg. A genuine 6IV Pokémon is therefore bred or built, not found.

Check before you judge

How do I check whether a Pokémon is 6IV?

Use the game’s Judge function rather than comparing the visible stat totals. A natural 31 IV is labelled “Best” for that stat; a Hyper-Trained stat shows “Hyper trained!” instead. Nature, level and EVs change the displayed numbers even when two Pokémon have identical IVs. The Judge function is a post-game unlock in all three games.

Scarlet & Violet

Unlocks after the credits: the Pokémon Center nurse tells you. Open Boxes, highlight the Pokémon and press + to cycle to the Judge screen. “Best” on all six stats is a natural 6IV.

Sword & Shield

Unlocks in the post-game when you reach Poké Ball Tier at the Battle Tower, about six wins. Open Boxes, highlight the Pokémon and press + for the Judge view. “Best” on all six is natural 6IV; “Hyper trained!” is not.

Legends: Z-A

Unlocks when you open your Boxes after the credits. Open the Pokémon’s summary, go to the stats page and press the right stick to switch to the Judge ratings.

Breeding use

Can a 6IV Ditto pass perfect IVs to eggs?

A Ditto with genuine natural 31 IVs can pass those underlying values through the game’s breeding mechanics; Hyper-Trained values cannot be inherited. A 6IV parent improves the pool of inheritable stats, but it does not make every egg automatically 6IV because inheritance still selects among parent values.

That is why NinVendor’s delivery disclosure treats Ditto differently: if Hyper Training was needed, the note includes the breeding caveat rather than presenting it as equivalent to a natural 6IV parent.

Delivered through the Vending Machine

How does NinVendor deliver a 6IV Pokémon?

Choose a ready-made 6IV build or select the supported IVs in Custom Build. The final Pokémon is legality-checked for its delivery game, then traded through the private Link Trade code on your order. Genuine IVs are preferred; any necessary Hyper Training is disclosed rather than hidden.
